In a place where you can buy a liter of some of the finest vodka for only $3 and street stands sell bottles of the drink for 50 cents, it’s no surprise that I came across some odd uses for the vodka while abroad. Telormedix raises 7.5 Million CHF in financing round

Telormedix, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on TLR7 agonists in the treatment of cancer and inflammatory diseases, today announced that it has raised 7.5 Million CHF from existing investors Aravis Venture (Basel, Switzerland) and Proquest Investments (Princeton-San Diego, USA).

The money raised in this financing round will be used to further advance Telormedix’s promising product candidates through preclinical and clinical trials. TMX-101, the Company’s lead product, is in a Phase I/II clinical trial for the treatment of Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer (NMIBC). In addition, the Company achieved significant preclinical results in October 2011 for TMX-202, a compound developed for the safe and effective topical treatment of skin cancer.

HP webOS Division Cuts 525 Jobs

The weeks since HP’s landmark restructuring announcement have been incredibly tumultuous for the webOS community. It announced it plans to shutter its webOS hardware business back in August is sacking hundreds of employees as a result. HP will lay off as many as 525 employees and that it began carrying out that dreadful duty this week.

HP confirmed that layoffs were underway. HP is reported that layoffs may total as high as 525 employees when all is said and done. While we know there had been a great deal of restructuring including efforts to bolster the webOS team in the months following the acquisition, one has to wonder what percentage of the total webOS workforce this represents.
